Tips on how to deal with gout with the 5 things below
Some tips to prevent gout
1. **Exercise regularly**: Physical activity helps reduce the risk of gout. Try to walk, bike or swim regularly.
2. **Lose weight**: If you are obese, losing weight can help reduce your risk of gout. A healthy diet and exercise will help achieve this goal¹².
3. **Avoid alcohol**: Alcoholic drinks can increase uric acid levels in the blood. If possible, stop consuming alcohol to reduce the risk of gout³.
4. **Choose foods wisely**: Avoid foods high in purines, such as red meat, liver and seafood. Instead, consume low-purine foods such as vegetables, fruit and whole grains⁴.
5. **Pay attention to medications**: Some medications can affect uric acid levels. If you take certain medications, talk to your doctor about their effects on gout².
